Empowering Pet Parents.
Enriching animals Lives.
Hi, I’m Nicole!
I am a certified Veterinary Assistant, Canine Nutritionist and Positive Reinforcement Dog Trainer with a special interest in body language & and enrichment. I have over 15 years of dedicated experience in the pet industry, and I’m so happy you’re here!
I have spent the majority of my professional career in luxury doggy daycare/boarding & grooming facilities, and several years in both a general and specialty veterinary practice (my last practice was a certified Feline Only practice in the Twin Cities!)
When I relocated to La Crosse in 2018, I started freelancing and consulting for some of the top startups in the pet industry as a Nutrition CSR, Pet Concierge, Social Media & Marketing Coordinator, and Account Manager. I love facilitating partnerships and fostering a community of wildly passionate animal lovers.
My passion for pets and their people is unparalleled. I started Plants + Paws La Crosse out of the desire to connect with my community, and empower pet parents with the tools and resources to help their pets thrive. Named after two of my favorite things, Plants + Paws La Crosse’s mission is to help pet parents make the most informed decisions they can for their pets, and keep animals in loving homes. Whether that be through my care based services here, or through my freelance services of content creation & innovative marketing strategies.
I am always looking for more ways to improve my knowledge and contribute to the lives of these sweet creatures, and the people that love them. I currently hold a certification in human nutrition, which lead me to get certified as a Canine Nutritionist through Feed Real Institute. I hope to bring my expertise to the La Crosse community virtually, and hopefully someday in a small brick and mortar retail space (think beautifully curated doggie boutique, paired with both human & animal nutrition related products & services, sourced and vetted by yours truly!)
My love for my 4 year old Beagle/Boxer/Cattle Dog mix named Doakes (from Dexter)-is what drives me every single day.
P.S. Tell your pet(s) I said hi! (We’re about to be best friends).
